Leath fills two top university posts
Retired Rear Admiral Kate Gregory has been named senior vice president for university services and Husch Blackwell attorney Michael Norton, university counsel. Subject to approval by the state Board of Regents, the two will start July 11.

Veterinary blood bank seeks donor cats, dogs
Healthy pets between 1 and 6 years old make the best candidates for the blood donor program at the Lloyd veterinary medical center. A minimum two-year commitment to the program is requested.

Monday is Memorial Day
ISU classes will not meet and university offices will be closed Monday, May 30, to observe the national Memorial Day holiday. The alumni association will host a ceremony Monday morning to honor employees, retirees, spouses, alumni and friends who died during the past year.

Researchers in the Center for Bioplastics and Biocomposites developed soy-based turfgrass fertilizers to help improve environmental sustainability.

Record your comments about any item on the board's June agenda at a June 2 public hearing (4-5 p.m., MU Gold Room). Meeting materials and an agenda for the June 8-9 meeting will be posted to the regents website by May 31.

An evening in the gardens
Enjoy lush surroundings, live music, food and a cash bar during Reiman After Hours on Friday, June 3 (4:30-7 p.m., Reiman Gardens). Registration is $21 ($16 for members) through May 29 or $28 after. Attendees must be at least 21 years old.

UHR sets dates for various leadership workshop series
University human resources' learning and development unit has scheduled workshop series for fall and/or spring 2017 that provide employees with opportunities to extend their knowledge on several leadership topics, including insight on leadership techniques, understanding and handling change, and tools to manage conflict.
