Keeping your keepsakes in shoeboxes, plastic bags and old photo albums? Hilary Seo, head of preservation for university libraries, has better ideas.

Caffrey will become interim director of admissions
Longtime admissions officer Phil Caffrey will step into the interim director position in mid-July when current admissions director Marc Harding departs to take a position at the University of Pittsburgh.

Move in day at Curtiss
Following about 15 months of construction, tenants are moving in this week to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' renovated student services mall on the ground floor of Curtiss Hall.

Arts and events

An Iowa State presence at the Des Moines Arts Festival
Six current or recent Iowa State students are among 22 selected for the "Emerging Iowa Artists" program at the 15th Des Moines Arts Festival June 22-24 (West Gateway Park, downtown). They'll be joined by two other artist alums participating this year.

College Creek cleanup is Saturday
The fourth annual College Creek cleanup is Saturday, June 23 (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Participants can drop in at any time, but online preregistration is appreciated. After checking in at the Forker Building parking lot, volunteers will be given clean-up supplies (bring your own gloves) and a choice of assignments. Free food, water and door prizes are part of the thanks.

What does a curator do?
University Museums staff will answer your questions at the June 24 Object Lessons program (2-3 p.m., Brunner Art Museum, Scheman). Participants are invited to submit questions in advance via email (dwitter@iastate.edu) or Twitter (@ISU_Museums, #askacurator).

Carillon series continues June 26
The second concert in the music department's summer carillon series will feature Robert Grogen, carillonneur at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, June 26 (7 p.m., central campus).
