newsBusiness dean finalist
interviews to begin soon On-campus
interviews of the finalists for the next dean of the College
of Business will begin as early as April 4, the first of several
dates set aside for finalists' forums and
receptions. Finalists should be named soon. Search
committee co-chairs anticipate a new dean will be named before
the end of spring semester. CyRide fleet sports buses
that bend Grant money helped CyRide add a pair of articulated
buses to the state of Iowa's busiest route. The new
vehicles, which double rider capacity, went into service this
week. Five questions for the ultimate
handyman Bill Rickard is
working with campus shop coordinators to build an undergraduate
resource hub that quite literally provides students with the
necessary tools to get their projects done.

lineup announced The athletics
department announced the six dates and 12 locations for its
2013 Cyclone Tailgate Tour
between May 13 and May 23. Each day includes noon and evening
events for Cyclone sports fans in Iowa communities and
Omaha.
Spring training: Get ready
for Kuali debut If you work with university
processes and systems, a little spring training on the Kuali
system is in order. The training will prepare you for
changes that occur July 1, when some administrative systems are
switched to the Kuali system.
It's extension and outreach
week in Iowa ISU Extension and Outreach is
celebrating its mission and
success with open houses and other activities at the county level
March 24-30.

Theatre stages classic Tennessee Williams play
ISU Theatre
will perform A Streetcar Named Desire March
28-31 at Fisher Theater.
The
Brunnier will be in bloom this weekend
University
Museums is hosting its 5th annual "Brunnier in Bloom" event March
29-31 at the Brunnier Art Museum (Scheman Building second
floor). This year's winning floral arrangers will be announced at a
March 29 event, "Flowers After Hours" (6-8 p.m., Brunnier). The
exhibit also will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 30 and
31. Visitors may vote for a people's choice award. A

'Take a chance' on the music of ABBA April
3
Arrival from Sweden, the premier
ABBA tribute band, will stage a 7:30 p.m. performance April 3 at
Stephens Auditorium. Tickets, $38 and $42 ($28 for youth; $25 for
students), are available at the Iowa State Center ticket office or
through Ticketmaster. Ticket holders are
invited to a free 7 p.m. pre-concert event, hosted by John Busbee
of The Culture Buzz, at the Celebrity Café (ground floor, north
side of Stephens).
Reserve tickets now for music department's
scholarship event
The music
department's annual "Scholarship Musicale," a
performance for the university community to benefit music student
scholarships, will be held April 5 (7 p.m., Tye Hall, Music
Hall). Up to 110 guests also may attend a post-concert reception at
the Knoll, hosted by President and Mrs. Leath. The concert will
feature vocal and instrumental music faculty, the Amara Piano
Quartet, ISU Flute Choir and the Fiddler on the Roof cast
from next month's "Stars Over Veishea" production. Tickets for both
events are $50 and must be reserved (concert-only tickets are $20
and available at the door or in 149 Music).
