community The popular survey tool Qualtrics is as close as your
keyboard. A university-wide license gives all faculty, staff and
students access to the online survey
builder. A program with roots in Iowa State
history A project to collect and propagate the genetic heritage
of Iowa State's diverse tree population kicks off this fall with
seedlings from a century-old catalpa. The progeny, which will be
used in future campus landscaping projects, also is available
for public purchase through the alumni
association.

100-year anniversary
with centennial events Sept. 26-28. Down with cow

staff to be honored Oct. 2
The
university community is invited to the Oct. 2 ceremony (3:30-4:30
p.m., MU Sun Room) recognizing faculty and staff recipients of Iowa State's
most distinguished awards.
Brunnier Art Museum dedicates new gallery
Sept. 26 University Museums will dedicate the new Ann Brunnier
Decorative Arts Gallery on Sept. 26 (5 p.m., Brunnier Art Museum,
295 Scheman). Ann and Henry Brunnier traveled the world, collecting
a wide range of artwork. In 1963, the Brunniers donated their
personal art collection to Iowa State. The new gallery houses part
of this collection. ISU Theatre season opens this
weekend Student talent again will be featured in six productions
by ISU Theatre this year. The season opens this weekend with
three performances of Anton
Chekhov's The Seagull in Fisher Theater. Three more
performances are set for Oct. 4-6. ISU's Project Runway
competition is Sept. 29 The 9th annual Project Runway competition for Iowa
State student teams is set for Sept. 29 (Runway walk is at 8 p.m.,
MU Great Hall). Joshua McKinley from Lifetime Television's Project
Runway reality show will host the event. Admission is free and all
