Tuition freeze could be lifted for spring semester

At its Aug. 5 meeting, the state Board of Regents will consider a 3 percent tuition increase for spring semester for resident undergraduates -- or approximately $100 for most students. Also on the agenda are a cremation garden for the ISU cemetery, $3.6 million electron microscope purchase, demolition request to make room for the Student Innovation Center and presidential salaries.

Blackboard technical support moves to solution center, expands hours

Instructors using Blackboard should have more accessible, on-demand technical help under a new support system that begins next week.

Study: Insulin resistance increases Alzheimer's risk

Auriel Willette, research scientist in food science and human nutrition, found a link between insulin resistance and memory function decline, increasing the risk for Alzheimer's disease.

 

Growing partnership beneficial to students and offenders

A collaboration between the landscape architecture department and a women's prison in Mitchellville that includes a new vegetable garden is providing hands-on learning experiences for students and offenders.
