Senate opens business with diversity and inclusion endorsement
The Faculty Senate passed a resolution encouraging a campus-wide commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Senators also approved a new online major and a program name change at the Nov. 8 meeting.

The Graduate College will host its first Three-Minute Thesis competition on Tuesday, Nov. 15 (2 p.m., 1213 Hoover). The winner advances to a regional event in Indianapolis next spring.
Gold Star Hall ceremony honors four
Iowa State's annual Gold Star Hall ceremony Nov. 7 featured the stories and photos of four former students who died serving in the U.S. military. Veterans Week events continue through Friday.

Band extravaganza is Saturday evening
Ever wondered what a marching band sounds like indoors? Here's your chance to find out. The ISU Band Extravaganza on Saturday, Nov. 12 (7:30 p.m., Stephens Auditorium), features performances by three ISU bands: Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band I and all 350+ members of the Cyclone Marching Band. Tickets are $10 (students $5).
'Christmas Rocks!' tour stops at Stephens on Sunday
Grammy Award winner Brian Setzer and his 19-piece orchestra will bring retro holiday music to Stephens Auditorium on Nov. 13 (7 p.m.). Tickets, $39-$79, are available at the Stephens box office or through Ticketmaster.
