Hurte named dean of students
Vernon Hurte was named Iowa State's next dean of students, which was elevated to an associate vice president post in student affairs last summer. His start date is July 3.

Failor named ISU state relations officer
Kristin Failor began serving as state relations officer for Iowa State this week. She is employed by the state Board of Regents to coordinate state government relations for ISU.

Phased retirement option set to expire in June
Unless the state Board of Regents takes action to continue or modify the program at a meeting prior to June 30, the regent system's phased retirement will expire on that date.

Record your comments about any item on the board's January agenda at a Jan. 13 public hearing (noon-1 p.m., MU Gold Room). An agenda and meeting materials for the Jan. 17 meeting will be posted to the regents meeting site by Jan. 10.
