Crackdown coming on street parking near campus
Ames police are hiring more parking officers so they can begin patrolling for street parking regulations in Campustown starting this fall. Previously, enforcement of time limits and alternating side rules came only in response to complaints.

Iowa State, DMACC partner on Iowa Cyber Hub
With the goal of increasing the number of cyber security professionals in Iowa, Iowa State and the Des Moines Area Community College created a partnership this week to establish the Iowa Cyber Hub.

Making safety suits safer to wear
An interdisciplinary research team in the College of Human Sciences is improving the health of those who wear protective clothing by analyzing the physiological strain and physical burden the safety gear causes.
New video series showcases aquaponics Extension and outreach specialist Allen Pattillo created a nine-piece video series, one to five minutes long each, on constructing and using an aquaponics system, in which the waste from farmed fish supplies nutrients for plants grown without soil.
