Senior Joi Wright will represent Iowa State this spring at a national theater festival in Washington, D.C. Wright took first place in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival's region 5 ASPIRE Arts Leadership Fellows program.

Co-instructors of an honors seminar on the Beatles, both lifelong fans of the Fab Four, are leading students on an eight-week study of the seminal 1960s band, culminating in a spring break trip to London and Liverpool.

Student talent showcased at Varieties performances
The 88th Varieties schedule includes semifinal performances this weekend (Feb. 8-9) and finals the weekend of Feb. 22-23, all in the Memorial Union Great Hall. Tickets ($10) may be purchased online via Midwestix or weekdays in the MU Maintenance Shop box office.

Speed and strength at the Lied this weekend
The Cyclone men's and women's track and field teams will host their annual Iowa State Classic Friday-Saturday, Feb. 8-9, in the Lied recreation center. This is a by-invitation meet. Field and running events start at noon both days and conclude about 8:30 p.m. Friday, about 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
