Helser Hall gets a summer makeover
Guests galore on campus this summer Students, faculty and staff share campus in the summer with a variety of camps, conferences and competitions held at Iowa State facilities. Here's a list of summer events expected to draw 100 or more visitors to campus.

Assistive tech lab to open next fall
Funding was approved for an assistive technology lab in Durham Center, dedicated to accessibility resources, peer mentoring, and community building for Iowa State students with disabilities.
Intervention reduces gender bias in course evaluations With growing evidence of gender bias in student course evaluations, a new intervention developed by Iowa State researchers may help reduce discrimination against women instructors.
Meet the 2019 CYstarters class Fifteen businesses have been selected for the 2019 cohort of CYstarters, an 11-week summer accelerator program that pays Iowa State students to build their own startups. A community kickoff event is planned for 4:30 p.m. May 23 at the Economic Development Core Facility.

'Coalesce' at the Hub
University Museums' newest addition to its Art on Campus collection was installed last month at the Hub.
Championship softball in Ames Iowa State is hosting a regional round of the postseason National Invitational Softball Championship May 16-18 at the Cyclone Sports Complex. The double-elimination Ames bracket opens with three Thursday games: At 4 p.m., the Cyclones face the winner of a 10 a.m. game between University of South Dakota and Purdue. South Dakota State and Eastern Kentucky square off at 1 p.m. The regional winner advances to the four-team championship May 24-26 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Admission is free.
