The office of the vice president for research has shared the 26 faculty members in its second Research Collaboration Catalysts cohort, a nine-month program designed to train the next leaders of high-impact interdisciplinary research teams.
Five years ago, an interdisciplinary faculty team partnered with seven state agencies and Iowa Head Start to develop a secure, cross-program system to share data that supports Iowa families with young children. Their collaboration already has several success stories.

Iowa State and Des Moines Area Community College have launched a program to make the transfer process even smoother for their shared students. The College of Design was selected in a competitive process to serve as host, with the city of Des Moines, for the Mayors' Institute on City Design July 27-29. The two-day workshop will focus on projects related to riverfront revitalization, transit-oriented development, food hub development and mixed-use development.
