A winning combo for clean recycling

Fresh off a nine-month study of signage to inspire effective recycling, campus recycling coordinator Steve Kohtz will assemble the winning combo in all academic buildings: recycling and waste bins side by side, each labeled with a color-consistent poster containing words and pictures to clarify what can and can't be deposited.

See you at the fair

The Iowa State Fair runs Aug. 8-18 and Iowa State will continue its notable presence in many buildings and programs. The university's main exhibit in the Varied Industries Building will feature 360-degree videos of unique campus experiences.

Long provides 'point' leadership to disaster response

A lead contact person will help ISU Extension and Outreach be a helpful, accessible resource to Iowans before, during and after disasters. Extension can help communities prepare before events take place and share and receive help from its partners across the Midwest.

A summer tree emergency

A summer storm last week downed part of a century-old elm tree adjacent to the Hub on central campus. Cosmetic-only roof damage may be repaired in time for fall semester.
