Regents approve master services agreement for CyTown
Goldenrod Companies will arrange financing for construction and manage operations of the development, including securing tenants and addressing their needs. The university will have no debt obligation for the development. A management committee will provide direction on all aspects of CyTown.
Faculty, staff can assist students by supporting student clubs
Any faculty or professional and scientific staff member employed at least half time on a continuous basis can serve as an advisor. Organizations can have more than one advisor.
An update on several operations/finance division projects
Senior vice president for operations and finance Sean Reeder updated the P&S Council on several projects, including at the Warren Madden Building and Veenker golf course.

White House honors three faculty for work in science, engineering
Three Iowa State researchers have received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the government's highest honor for scientists and engineers who are early in their careers. Congratulations, Soumik Sarkar, mechanical engineering; Dipali Sashital, biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology; and Zengyi Shao, chemical and biological engineering.
Study highlights sustainability awareness of faculty, staff
A spring 2023 survey of ISU faculty and staff found a strong commitment to on-campus sustainability efforts. Nearly two-thirds of respondents indicated they were aware of the Office of Sustainability and its Live Green initiative. Both faculty and staff expressed high levels of concern for the environment and strong support for campus sustainability initiatives.
New information reveals more about crop rotation
Iowa State researchers found longer, more diverse rotations of crops fertilized with livestock manure have many environmental benefits, but carbon sequestration isn't one of them.

Senior vice president Toyia Younger will give the keynote at the Martin Luther King Jr. community celebration on Monday, Jan. 20 (6:30 p.m., Ames City Auditorium, livestream on Facebook and YouTube). Enjoy free, themed crafts in the MU Workspace on Monday (11 a.m.-4 p.m.).
Rent outdoor recreation equipment
Recreation services' Adventure equipment rental is open weekdays 2-7 p.m. at State Gym. Golf discs? Winter camping gear? Rock climbing shoes? To rent, complete the online request form; rental fees are based on affiliation with rec services and the university.
Midweek hoops at Hilton
The second-ranked Cyclone men's basketball team is back at Hilton Coliseum Tuesday, Jan. 21 (7 p.m.) to host the University of Central Florida. The women's team welcomes Big 12 Conference foe BYU on Jan. 22 (6:30 p.m.). Men's resale tickets start at $10, and faculty and staff can get a discount on tickets for the women's contest.
