Guidelines shared for Jan. 1 performance-based salary increases
Salary increases of 1% to 3% are possible for faculty, P&S and contract staff and post docs with a satisfactory performance evaluation this fall. A higher increase is possible for extraordinary performance.
More voluntary benefits are coming in 2026
The university is expanding its voluntary benefits with three new insurance options. Employees can choose coverage for accidents, critical illnesses or hospital stays -- financial help with the unexpected costs when they need it most.

Football connects universities for academic exchange
Following a One Health and ag tech summit last week in Dublin, the presidents of Iowa State, Kansas State and University College Dublin signed a memorandum of understanding to establish an academic exchange program, including research collaborations, among the three colleges of Veterinary Medicine.

Fall free movies open tonight
The Student Union Board's Cyclone Cinema returns this semester with 13 feature films that played very recently in theaters across the country. Showings begin at 7 p.m. Thursday-Sunday evenings in 101 Carver. Admission is free and the public is welcome; popcorn, candy and bottled beverages are for sale. This weekend's movie is the superheroes film, "Thunderbolts."
Off and running, literally
The lone opportunity this season to see the Cyclone cross-country teams compete at home -- including the preseason No. 1-ranked men's squad -- comes at the Cyclone Preview on Friday, Aug. 29 (8:30 a.m., men's start; 9 a.m., women's start, ISU cross country course). Spectators may park at the Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center or lots 61A and 61B (east of Wallace and Wilson residence halls).
Football home opener is Saturday
The first of six home football games this fall is Saturday, Aug. 30 (2:30 p.m., Jack Trice Stadium), when the Cyclones host the Coyotes of the University of South Dakota, Vermillion. Tickets may be purchased online.
