Extension's impact around the state
In 2025, more than 10,000 Iowa youth experienced AI-focused programming through 4-H, building critical future-ready STEM skills. After participating in extension programs, the city of Manning secured more than $405,000 in grants and added 19 single-family housing units worth nearly $6.3 million. In its Real Impact 2025 report, ISU Extension and Outreach shares some of the opportunities it created in all 99 counties for Iowans.
Portrait collection adds 24 faces
Iowa artist Rose Frantzen's Faces of Iowa State grew by 24 portraits last year -- administrators, alumni and campus leaders who have impacted the university. The new set currently hangs in the Morrill Hall first floor hallway. Frantzen started the series during the 2016 Iowa State Fair, painting live in the university's main exhibit.
Center interns help Iowa businesses thrive
Each year, the Center for Industrial Research and Service connects Iowa companies with bright, motivated ISU students ready to tackle real-world challenges. For interns, it's a chance to apply classroom learning and make a tangible impact at the business they work with.
